Greg Wildman B.A. (Hons) Cert CII

With a background in sales maximisation and a degree in Planning with Economic Development, Greg left University in 1995 to go to America and teach tennis and football.  On his return he gained a place on the Russell and Bromley graduate scheme and after a two year training programme, started managing stores throughout the UK.

Greg decided to join Basil Fry & Company in 2001 as a Commercial Account Executive. At Basil Fry he has been responsible for staff development, marketing and sales.  Greg joined his brother Philip Wildman in the first management buy out of the Company in 2007.  A decade on, in 2017, Greg headed a further MBO.  Greg is passionate about staff training and continually encourages new employees to commence and complete professional development.

With a large portfolio of Removal, Storage and Self Storage clients, Greg is a focussed and dedicated Account Executive, while also filling the role of Managing Director.



Broking Directors

Peter Doman Cert CII

Peter has worked at Basil Fry since 2007 and now has in excess of twenty years of commercial experience.  Previously, Peter worked for a major blue chip Company where he was a multi site Operations Manager and Training Consultant.  Peter has established a large book of business through hard work and a positive mentality. He is very popular with his clients for his approach and for finding solutions to everyday business challenges.

Peter is currently the Southern Area Secretary for the British Association of Removers (BAR); a post that he has held since 2009. He is also a Director of the Self Storage Association (SSA) where he is the liaison between the Board and all other Affiliate Members.

Peter was appointed to the Basil Fry & Company Board of Directors in 2015 and partnered with Greg Wildman in the 2017 MBO.

Ria Houston B.A. (Hons) Dip CII

Ria joined Basil Fry in January 2005 and progressed through the Company from Account & Claim Handler to Senior Account Executive in 2013, achieving a Diploma in Insurance with the CII during this time. Ria prides herself on offering a superior, market leading service to her clients. Her longstanding clients are a testament to her thorough, attentive and well structured approach. Ria maintains day-to-day contact and strong relationships with businesses ranging from new start ups to major international contractors. The diversity of Ria’s client base has allowed her to build a broad, technical and robust knowledge based on her experience with the removals and storage industry.

Ria was promoted to Director in April 2016 and was a part of the management buy out in 2017.

Technical Director & Global Account Executive

Adam Kellaway B.A. (Hons), ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker

Adam first joined Basil Fry in 2006, where he progressed to Account Executive level and during part time study, achieved a First Class Honours degree in Insurance. Subsequently he was awarded ACII status. He left the Company in 2012 to gain some experience working in the City of London.

During his four years away, Adam worked in the Offshore Energy sector at Marsh, servicing some of the largest Oil & Gas companies in the world. In 2014 he was approached to join the underwriting team at QBE and spent time in Lloyds of London, with authority to underwrite Offshore Energy risks. He was involved with the placement of some of the largest and most complex Energy risks in the world, with values of up to US$20bn.

Adam returned to Basil Fry in May 2016 to bolster the Company’s technical prowess, being appointed to the Board as Technical Director in February 2017. Adam was involved in the 2017 MBO with Greg Wildman. Adam is also tasked with policy wording advancement and product development. Adam is the Company’s Global Account Executive, specialising in servicing Removal, Storage and Self Storage Companies around the Globe.



Finance Director

Sue Thorn ( MAAT)

Sue joined Basil Fry in March 2012 as the Financial Controller after previously working in the finance departments for Atkins Global and Countrywide Estate Agents.

Our finance team look after all of the financial matters relating to our Removal and Self Storage clients and Sue’s experience in her previous corporate company roles has bought good practice and professionalism into the finance department of Basil Fry.

Sue was promoted to Finance Director in July 2017 and was part of the management buy out in 2017.

Working alongside Sue in the finance team are Paula Senior ( MAAT), Cathy Rayson (MAAT) and Ruth Bishop all of who have been with Basil Fry over five years making up the experienced team dealing with the companies matters.


Bob Tree ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker

Bob joined Basil Fry in August 2009, with responsibility for the development of the business in Removal, Freight Forwarding and Self Storage Sectors.

He has been involved with arranging insurances for Companies within these sectors for the past thirty five years and specialises in the development of solutions to assist clients and manage their risk exposures.  He also advises on maximising revenue opportunities. A regular speaker at Trade Conferences and area meetings, he is currently Treasurer of the BAR New Met Area, a post he has held since the mid 1980’s and sits on a number of industry related committees.




Philip Wildman BSc (Hons), ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker

Philip joined Basil Fry in 1983 from the Freight Forwarding Industry where he was involved in settling claims.  Philip is well known and respected in the Industry for his expertise and regularly contributes to negotiations with organisations such as the FCA and HMRC on behalf of clients of Basil Fry.  Philip played a leading role in the development of solutions for the Industry when the FSA regulated the sale of insurance in 2005 and those solutions are still very evident in the protection afforded to Removers’ clients to this day.

Philip is also very well respected by the leading Insurers as a sound insurance technician and continually offers advice to Insurers regarding the provision of insurance solutions for both the Removal and Self Storage Industries.



Amy King Cert CII

Claims Director

Amy’s insurance career began in 2009 when she accepted a role as a Claims Handler, managing up to 500 claims concurrently. With a significant delegated authority to settle claims on behalf of insurers, Amy was renowned for her ability to solve complex petrochemical claims involving specialised vehicles. After joining Basil Fry & Company in 2014, Amy was promoted in 2015 to Claims Manager and to the board in 2019, a testament to her ability to troubleshoot, while also maintaining strong relationships with our clients and industry partners.

Amy is responsible for managing our two claims departments, RCS and Broking Claims.  RCS deals with transit and storage claims. Our Broking claims department provides a link between our clients and the Insurers, cutting down on time spent by the Remover or Self Storage contractor on risk management.



Melissa Stoy Assoc CIPD

HR Manager

Having previously worked as an office manager for an Agricultural/ Civil engineering company dealing with large clientele such as Surrey County Council, Carillion and Defra, Melissa joined Basil Fry in 2011 and now manages the day to day running of the office and staff in her role as HR Manager. Melissa is now a qualified associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Senior Broker

Matthew has specialised in Removal, Storage and Self Storage insurances since he joined Basil Fry & Company in 2009. He has a reputation for a meticulous and fair approach to his work, evidenced by his portfolio of longstanding clients.  Matthew is a technical advisor on all aspects of insurance offered by Basil Fry & Company.

Tracey Bridger Cert CII

Account Executive

Tracey has worked in the commercial insurance industry for over twenty years and joined Basil Fry in 2001. Tracey is an experienced member of staff and has proficiently worked within all departments at Basil Fry. In addition to her own book of business she also supports Bob Tree and his clients. She also specialises in Cargo Insurance and the provision of insurance for Ministry of Defence Personnel and has a sound knowledge of all general commercial insurances.



Kelly Simmons Dip CII

Operations Manager, Account Executive & Account Handler to Ria Houston

Kelly’s insurance career commenced when she joined Allianz as a Claims Handler in 2007. Oamps insurance brokerage offered Kelly an opportunity to progress to the next level and she joined as a Senior Claims Technician in 2010, also having responsibility for training new members of staff. Kelly wanted to use the technical foundation she had gained in her previous roles to explore a more diverse challenge in the insurance broking area and joined Basil Fry & Company in 2015. Kelly also works with Ria Houston and is continuing her professional qualification development.



Daniel Johnson B.A. (Hons), Cert CII

Account Executive & Account Handler to Philip Wildman

Daniel graduated from the University of Kent in 2012 with a degree in History. Daniel then spent a few years gathering office experience working for a photocopier sales & service company after university, before taking a bit of time off to travel Australia and New Zealand. Upon returning back home he was looking to establish a career and after a brief stop in accounting, he took up a position in Basil Fry where he is continuing to take the necessary exams to develop a career in the industry.



Mark Davies Cert CII

Business Development Manager & Account Executive

Mark joined Basil Fry from the IT industry in 2012. Mark has over 24 years experience in sales and account management, working in the retail, building and IT industries. He prides himself on the business relationships he achieves with clients through service and understanding of client needs. Mark was promoted to Business Development Manager in 2018 and is now responsible for the new business team as well as his own established book of clients.

Ashley Martin B.A (Hons), Dip CII, DIP CILA

Commercial Claims Handler

Ashley joined Basil Fry in 2016 after working for Boots for 5 years developing his customer service skills. Ashley handles motor, liability and customers goods claims proficiently. He is the Young Professional Secretary for the Guildford CII where he organises technical and soft skills events for young people in the region. He is currently working towards achieving his ACII qualification.

David Pite Cert CII

Senior Claims Adjuster

David started his career working for a large Lloyds broker in the city reinsuring hull and cargo. Having joined Basil Fry & Co in 1987 and now working with RCS, David holds delegated authority granted by major Insurers in the Industry to handle and settle claims. He is well respected for his desire to settle claims in a manner that is fair to both the contractor and the claimant.



James Randall B.A (Hons), Cert CII, Cert CILA

Claims Adjuster

James has a decade of experience working within the insurance industry. James was a Claims Technician for a leading Global Insurance Company. His portfolio consisted of predominately Property, Marine Cargo, Freight Liability and Legal Indemnity claims within the commercial market. More recently he held the position of a Loss Adjuster with a London firm handling UK and International Claims across a number of lines of business.
