Founded in 1970, Basil Fry, a broker in the City with Removals and Storage experience, spotted a gap in the market and decided to set up his own business from home.  Already considered an expert in his field through advices given to Removers in the 1950′s and 60′s, Basil built on his expertise through the creation of his own Company.

Our Company is slightly different today.  Traditional values remain at the core but with cutting edge technology to enable you to place insurance cover, partnered with delegated authorities from the top Insurers to allow us to bind and provide policy documents.

Our philiosophy is similar to that of Bronowski’s above. There are many insurance brokers who will place the risk for you, collect the money and leave you in abeyance.  Our approach is that of risk management, actual advice to improve your exposure and return dividends to you so that you recognise the value your broker brings – a partnership with you to drive your Company in the right direction.  This is the ethos that ensures our client base grows year on year.

Five years ago, the present Managing Director, Philip Wildman, spearheaded a Management Buy Out.  Convinced that the Company could expand with better systems in place, Philip and his team of Directors adopted a more technological approach that has paid dividends throughout the recession.  Listening to our major clients, we delivered a new internet system in conjunction with MoveMan that was not only easy to use, but aeaesthetically pleasing too.

From our premises in Leatherhead, the company is perfectly positioned to service all sizes of Accounts.

We have been on the Insurance Broker Panel of the British Association of Removers since its foundation. The Association recognises that our specialisation means we are at the forefront of providing insurance and risk management solutions for the removals industry.  Our involvement with the SSA, the Self Storage Association, is newer but already, members have saved money and are sitting in a better position because of risk management measures advised by our experts.

All insurance broking staff at Basil Fry have insurance qualifications and are trained to an excellent standard, having in-depth knowledge of the industry and different policies available. They are able to give advice on the policies to suit each client’s requirements and make specific recommendations to suit.

In-house settlement of clients’ claims through Removal Claims Service in the unfortunate event of a loss. This is a unique service available on the BAR Broker Panel.
